An all-encompassing celebration of the most successful weekly drama series in New Zealand television history.

Gibson International won a very competitive pitch to produce this high-profile, and high potential-for-disaster (if the fans didn’t like it) museum exhibition dedicated to Outrageous Fortune.

We came up with an exhibition idea that would be not just for the fans, but for anyone curious about what happens behind the scenes in television. Touching all facets of production from costumes to set structure, the six-month exhibition provided visitors with a treasure trove of ‘extra features’ to the beloved 107-episode comedy-drama.

It was a close collaboration with the Auckland War Memorial Museum and series producers South Pacific Pictures to create a narrative that celebrated the series and screen craft. Our team created the complete concept and exhibition design, including the fabrication and installation of the immersive experience.

The comprehensive Outrageous Fortune fan experience

From backstage, to on-set, through a purpose-built immersive environment of lights, sound, media and interactive displays – the Outrageous Fortune exhibition is a comprehensive fan experience.

The immersive experience culminates in a 3D movie presentation produced by Gibson International, in which the main actors from the TV series performed their characters for one last time.
