Ben is a multi-skilled Creative Director and Art Director who has turned his talented hand and discerning eye to both film and experience design.
For 15 years, Ben worked in New York as an Art Director and Production Designer. He played a critical creative role in a range of projects, from Robert Altman’s Prairie Home Companion to College Road Trip for Walt Disney Studios, as well as critically acclaimed releases such as Julie and Julia.
Having designed everything from motion pictures to music videos to commercials, Ben relocated to New Zealand with his family in 2008 to begin a new chapter in experience design with the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa as Head of Design and Creative Director.
Most recently, Ben comes to Gibson Group from Weta Workshop’s LBE department where he worked on museums and attractions in New Zealand and China, such as Te Papa’s Gallipoli: The Scale of Our War. He was also the lead exhibition designer and creative lead on the national museum’s Bug Lab exhibit.
